Setting: what matters for daily wear
A high setting looks dramatic but catches on clothes and hair and takes more knocks — a low setting suits an active life. Prongs let more light into the stone; a bezel covers the girdle and protects it, which is a must for an emerald. A 1.8–2.2 mm band is a good balance for 585 gold. If the ring will be worn next to a wedding band, we design the pair together so the band sits flush.
Stone shape on the finger
The cut changes how the hand looks more than the carat weight does. For the same budget, an elongated shape looks larger than a round one.
| Shape | Look | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Round | Maximum sparkle, universal | Most expensive per carat |
| Oval and pear | Lengthen the finger, look larger than a round of the same weight | Good for shorter fingers |
| Emerald and baguette | Calm, elegant flashes instead of sparkle | Inclusions are more visible |
| Cushion and princess | Square, modern silhouette | Princess corners need protective prongs |
Getting the ring size secretly
The most common question before a proposal. Methods from the most reliable:
- Borrow a ring your partner wears on the ring finger of the right hand and bring it to us — we size it in a minute.
- Trace the inside of the ring on paper or press it into a bar of soap.
- Ask a friend or sister — they usually know.
Timing
A ring from an individual model takes 2–3 weeks from sketch approval, a complex setting with pavé 3–5 weeks; sourcing a specific stone adds 1–3 weeks. Allow a month before the date — before New Year and 8 March the workshop is fully booked. A ready-made ring can be bought today.
