How to read a stone card
Each stone card lists the four parameters that drive the price: carat weight, colour, clarity and cut quality. For coloured stones colour matters most — a saturated, even tone costs several times more than a pale one at the same weight.
Origin and treatment are stated separately. Heating for sapphire and ruby or oiling for emerald is common practice worldwide, but it has to be disclosed: untreated stones are valued higher.
Checked before you buy
We work alongside our own gemological laboratory in Bishkek, so a stone in the catalogue is not taken on the supplier word. Species identification, synthetic and imitation screening, refractive index and density measurement, inclusion study under the microscope — that is the standard routine for every item.
A stone bought from us can be brought back for a re-check at any time, and we also issue reports on stones bought elsewhere.
